Our Leisure Time

On Top of the World

In our free time, we love staying active and creative while enjoying simple pleasures together. Every morning and evening, we go for walks around the neighborhood, and after dinner, we play basketball in the driveway before heading out for our evening stroll. Wednesday nights are reserved for board games, and Ramon is always on the hunt for new games at Goodwill to try. We love them so much that we're currently testing a prototype of a card game Ramon is developing.

Quiet Sunday afternoons are a favorite. Mary loves curling up on the couch with a cat and a detective novel, while Ramon enjoys spending time catching up with his best friend in New Hampshire or outside tending to the garden, where he grows tomatoes, basil, and jalapeños.

We also enjoy jogging—Mary runs with a group of friends she met 13 years ago, and Ramon keeps fit on the treadmill or in the garage gym. Our artistic side shines during the holidays when we create clay ornaments each year that reflect something special from that year. We've also made spoon rests and dishes that we paint and decorate together.

We love spending time with friends and their kids at the park, the aquarium, or simply playing in the backyard. We look forward to sharing all these activities—and more—with our future children.

Qualities We Admire in Each Other

At a Friend's Wedding

One of the things we love most about our relationship is how we complement each other, bringing different strengths, energy, and love to our home.

Ramon brings so much joy and laughter to our home with his playful, childlike energy, known in Tagalog as "Kulit." He loves making life fun—whether it's sneaking around corners to yell "boo" or racing to the driveway after dinner to see who gets the first basketball shot. Beyond his silliness, Ramon has a deep well of compassion. He always considers others' perspectives and has a gift for connecting with kids, who adore him for his patience and playfulness.

Mary is the heart of our family with her outgoing, friendly nature. She is hardworking, dependable, and always looking for ways to help others. Mary has a knack for creating memorable moments, from planning camping trips to organizing family outings. She's great with our friends' children, whether it's holding a baby in her arms or offering her hand to a little one during a walk. She also shows kindness to everyone, giving grocery gift cards to the homeless and helping those in need.

We balance each other perfectly, bringing out the best in one another with love, laughter, and faith at the center of our relationship.

Our Faith

Both of us were raised in the Catholic tradition. Mary attended Catholic elementary school and has been singing in the church choir since she was ten. Throughout high school and college, she was involved in various ministries, organizing youth retreats, interfaith karaoke nights, and camping trips for young adults.

Ramon also grew up attending church with his family, but his faith deepened after college. His aunt played an integral role in helping him reconnect with his faith and strengthen his bond with the Church.

We are actively involved in our parish today. Mary continues to sing in the choir, and Ramon helps project song lyrics for the congregation. Together, we serve in the hospitality group, providing food and refreshments after Mass and building relationships within our church community.

In addition to our parish activities, we participate in two faith-sharing groups. One has met for over a decade, bringing together four couples who share joys, struggles, and milestones, while celebrating the lives of our friends' seven children. The other group gathers weekly during Advent and Lent, using books and podcasts to deepen our faith and reflect on the seasons. Our faith and community support us, and we look forward to sharing this nurturing environment with your child.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a spacious three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home in a quiet town just south of San Jose. Our neighborhood is only about ten years old, and it's very safe—a great place for families. We live on a friendly little cul-de-sac with eight homes, and we know all our neighbors. The kids in the neighborhood love playing outside, riding bikes, and drawing with chalk, and we often chat with them and their parents.

In our backyard, we grow tomatoes, basil, and jalapeños, plus we have a fig tree and a young orange tree that we planted together in 2022. Our home feels warm and inviting, decorated with paintings we've made. We also have two sweet cats who love to cuddle with us on the couch.

Just a few houses away, there's a big park where families take their dogs, and kids can run around, fly kites, or play football. We're also only 15 minutes from Mt. Madonna, which is our favorite spot for hiking and camping. Our Catholic church, which has a school for kids from kindergarten to eighth grade, is also close by.

Our town is very welcoming and diverse, with many Hispanic families. People here speak both Spanish and English. We love taking walks around the neighborhood, saying hi to neighbors and seeing kids and families out and about. It's a safe and happy place to raise a child.

Our Extended Families

Mary's Family

Family is very important to us, and we are excited to expand ours through adoption. Although our families live far away, we stay very close. Mary has two older brothers, and Ramon has two brothers and two sisters. Together, we have 17 nieces and nephews, and we visit them in Alaska, Iowa, Maryland, and Pennsylvania at least twice a year—once at Christmas and again in the summer. We also stay connected through phone calls and video chats between visits.

Ramon's Family

Ramon grew up in the Philippines, surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. He remains close with his cousins and their children. Mary and Ramon each have one cousin who was adopted, and Mary has another cousin who grew their family through adoption.

Diversity is something we cherish. Nearly all of our nieces and nephews are biracial, and we welcome all cultures and backgrounds. We also have a close-knit group of friends who feel like family. We belong to two faith-sharing groups and love spending time with their kids—celebrating birthdays, going apple-picking, and babysitting. We can't wait to share our love with our future children.

From Us to You

We don't know the details of your circumstances, but we do know this: considering adoption for your child is a decision rooted in immense love, selflessness, and courage. We admire your strength, and we are honored that you're taking the time to learn more about us. Please know that we are here to answer any questions you might have about us, as you search for the best family for your child.

If we are blessed to be chosen as adoptive parents, we promise to love your child unconditionally and provide them with a warm, nurturing home. We will raise them in the Catholic faith, teaching them about God's boundless love for all people, and we will guide them in discovering their unique talents, passions, and purpose. We are excited to give them every opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.

We also promise to nurture a lifelong connection with you if that is something you desire. We would be honored to share letters, photos, and videos with you, so you can see the precious milestones in their life. We are open to texting, video calls and any level of communication you feel comfortable with. Your child will grow up knowing how brave and selfless you are, how deeply you love them, and that they are part of a larger family?"a family that includes you.

Our family and close friends are an integral part of our lives, and they are incredibly excited to welcome your child. Our community is wonderfully diverse, including Hispanic, African American, White, and Asian friends and relatives. We are committed to celebrating your child's unique culture and background, ensuring they are surrounded by love and supported by people who share and honor their heritage.

Together, we enjoy hiking, camping, painting, and other activities that bring us closer as a family. We dream of sharing these moments with your child-reading bedtime stories, blowing bubbles, playing in the yard, and teaching them about the world.

Our love story began during the pandemic when we connected on CatholicMatch. Just two weeks before meeting, we had each started praying the rosary, asking Mama Mary to guide us to our future spouse. We truly believe that our prayers were answered when we found each other. From the beginning, we knew that building a family was an essential part of our dreams. Adoption has been close to our hearts for years, even before we were married. After struggling to conceive, we came to see adoption not as a second choice, but as a beautiful part of God's plan for our lives.

Ramon works from home as a Graphic Designer with a flexible schedule, while Mary works from home 3-4 days per week as a User Experience Engineer for a medical device company. Her schedule allows her to choose which days she goes to the office. Both of us have been with our companies for many years (9 and 13 years), and we are grateful for the stability, flexibility, and excellent health benefits that allow us to focus on building a loving home for our family.

We have a forever home that we are excited to fill with the laughter and love of children. We hope to grow our family further through adoption so that your child can grow up with siblings to share life's joys and adventures.

We believe that life's struggles can lead us to something beautiful, and we see adoption as an incredible testament to love, trust, and hope. If you choose us, we will forever honor the trust you have placed in us by loving your child with our whole hearts, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and cherished every single day.

Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents. We hope to have the chance to get to know you and to support you in any way we can.
